Custom software for Longmont, at a price a card or purchase order covers

Booking, portals and dashboards at a published fixed price, built remotely by a studio in nearby Lyons.

The City of Longmont lets a department buy up to $10,000 with a procurement card or a purchase order. A Focused build at $4,950 and a Complete build at $9,850 both fit. We are in Lyons, not Longmont, so we do not qualify for the city's local preference, and we say so up front.

How Longmont buys, and what we cannot claim

City of Longmont (purchasing page, read 2026-10-16): up to $10,000, the requesting department buys directly with a procurement card or purchase order. The page then describes purchases over $50,000, with three vendors for the next band, and says nothing about $10,000 to $50,000. For a $22,500 Build + Extend quote we would ask Purchasing and Contracts what applies.

Local preference: the same page describes a 5% preference, plus 2.5% for firms with 35 or fewer employees. A local company needs a Longmont sales and use tax licence and a physical location in the city limits. Benchford is in Lyons, so we do not qualify and do not count on it.

St. Vrain Valley Schools (purchasing page, read 2026-10-16): under $5,000, a purchasing card or purchase order with no quotes; $5,000 to under $25,000, requests for quote from at least two suppliers; $25,000 and up, a formal solicitation. There is no approved-vendor list below $25,000. A Focused build at $4,950 fits the lowest band.

Longmont questions

Short answers, with sources and dates.

Who builds custom software in Longmont?

Longmont has agencies and consultants of many sizes. Benchford is a studio in nearby Lyons that builds booking, portals and dashboards for owner-run businesses at a published fixed price: Focused $4,950, Complete $9,850 and Build + Extend $22,500, plus applicable tax.

How does the City of Longmont buy from small vendors?

Up to $10,000, a department can buy with a card or purchase order. A Complete build plus 12 months of Essentials care is $11,638, which is over that line, so count the build plus 12 months of care and ask Purchasing and Contracts before you order. We never split a project to stay under a line.

Does Benchford get Longmont's local preference?

No. The preference needs a physical location in Longmont, and ours is in Lyons. We compete on the written scope, the ship date and the price.

When must a Longmont public website meet the federal accessibility rule?

Longmont is well above 50,000 residents, which puts a city's web content on the April 26, 2027 federal date under ADA Title II (ada.gov, read 2026-10-16). Confirm your entity's population and date with its ADA coordinator. Our Title II note covers the dates, the standard (WCAG 2.1 Level AA) and what to document.

Do you come on site?

No. We work by phone and video: a free thirty-minute call, a written scope, a written status every week and video check-ins before launch. Because the work is remote, the price and the ship date do not change with distance.

What does it cost?

A Focused build is $4,950, a Complete build is $9,850 and Build + Extend is $22,500. Care plans for hosting, monitoring and upkeep are $149, $299 or $499 a month. Every price is plus applicable tax and is on the pricing page.
